Freek van Eijk is CEO of Holland Circular Hotspot (HCH), an independent and action driven platform that facilitates the transition to a circular economy at the international level by bringing together government authorities, knowledge institutes and especially businesses. HCH supports knowledge exchange with the aim to stimulate entrepreneurship in the field of circular economy. HCH is the orchestrator of a growing global movement—connecting Circular Economy Hubs and catalyzing CE Hotspot Events across continents.”
Freek van Eijk is also co-chair of the Coordination Group of the EU Circular Economy Stakeholder Platform (ECESP).
Furthermore, he is an adjunct professor at the LUISS Business School and serves in several governmental and private advice committees as well as in innovation award juries
He is one of the more senior EU experts in the field of Waste Management and Circular Economy and has been described as a “mover and a shaker’.
Previously he was vice chair of the triple helix organization Circular Biobased Delta, he served for over a decade as Director of strategy and PA at multinational SUEZ and as a board member at the Dutch Waste Management Association and the Society and Enterprise Foundation and acted as a Sherpa of the EU Innovation Partnership on Raw Materials.
He is an MSc. Eng. (Delft University of Technology).
