In the face of climate crisis and resource challenges, circular economy is gradually becoming the core strategy for policy development in various countries. This session will discuss the experience of different countries in making their "Circular Economy Roadmaps", with a particular focus on the Asia-Pacific region. It will explore how countries can move beyond a waste management and recycling-oriented mindset toward a systemic transformation covering design, manufacturing, consumption, and reuse, and how to develop circular strategies that are locally adaptable to diverse industries and cultural contexts. Taiwan will also present the latest draft of the "Circular Economy Roadmap" and invite international partners to share their experiences and provide feedback.

The design of the governance structure is crucial to turn the circular economy from a vision into a mainstream economic model that actually promotes sustainable growth. This session focuses on the "Circular Trilogy" - from the internal transformation of corporate governance, policy guidance at the national level, to regulatory alignment and cooperation platforms at the international level, with the aim of exploring how to establish institutional conditions and cross-level connection mechanisms to support circular economy actions. It therefore explains how to make "good ideas" become "good business" and make circular economy a real economy driver.

Demonstrating how Taiwan makes good use of local resources, combining multiple industries such as textiles, equipment, and technology, and continuously promoting high-value full utilization
Taiwan's electronics industry has a complete supply chain and is able to work with brands to redesign products that are easy to recycle. It has also developed many closed-loop models from materials to manufacturing to establish a resilient supply network.
Due to the growing demand for urban renewal and industrial development, enterprises are gradually promoting the sustainable production and use of inorganic resources (such as steel, cement, concrete...), taking into account both resource demand and emission reduction targets.

With its various recycled materials technologies, along with diverse recycling systems and sorting technologies, Taiwan has the capacity to develop circular business models, moving from "Bottle to Clothes" to "Clothes to Clothes".
With the rise of decommissioned wind and solar power equipment and growing dependence on critical raw materials, countries face dual challenges: ensuring stable material supply and managing end-of-life energy products. This forum explores circular design for energy products and recycling of critical materials from EV batteries, focusing on improving dismantlability and material recovery through better design and material choices. Leveraging Taiwan’s experience in renewable energy and high-tech industries, we aim to foster global dialogue and accelerate the transition to fully circular energy systems.
In response to the four strategic goals of the UN Plastics Treaty (reduction and substitution, product design to ensure recyclability, reuse of plastics, and management of existing pollution), this session showcases the innovation of Taiwan’s plastic recycling industry chain, from material selection to business models, and the use of cross-industry and innovative technologies.
