Vinh is a Program Analyst at the Climate Change and Environment Unit at UNDP Vietnam, where he leads a portfolio of chemicals, waste, plastics and circular economy. Promoting transition from linear to circular, he works with various partners from government, private sector, academia, NGOs, and community to implement projects on waste management, fostering recycling and improving design for circularity and sustainability. Before devoting his work fulltime to UNDP, Vinh served as a senior officer at Viet Nam Environment Agency under the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, where he had more than 10-year-experience in international cooperation, waste management and contaminated site remediation. He is known to complete a UNDP/GEF project on cleanup of more than 1,000 tons of POP pesticide contaminated materials, bringing a safer living environment for thousands of locals, contributing to the national policy framework on this area. Previously, Vinh also worked as the technical advisor for a World Bank funded project on industrial wastewater management. Vinh holds a master’s degree in environmental management from Coventry University of the United Kingdom and degree in Environmental Science from Hanoi University of Natural Science. He lives in Hanoi and sometimes travels to Hoa Binh to support his family business on fish farming in his free time.
