Director of the Office of Sustainable Development at National Taichung University of Science and Technology, with expertise spanning architecture, urban planning, and environmental education. Over 20 years ago, inspired by the United Nations Decade of Education for Sustainable Development, they began dedicated research in the field of sustainability education. Since then, they have actively promoted the localization and implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) in Taiwan’s educational context.
Through various approaches—including workshops, articles, books, and research—they have supported frontline educators in bringing the principles of sustainable development into the classroom. For example, by teaching the definition of sustainability, they emphasize that it is a generational responsibility for educators: “The future of our students is shaped by the education they receive today.” Sustainable development serves as the core framework, weaving "sustainability" as the warp and "future" as the weft, guiding students to learn from the real world and to teach for a sustainable future for the next generation.
In recognition of their commitment to advancing sustainability education, they were awarded the 2023 National Excellent Teacher Award (師鐸獎) by the Ministry of Education and the 10th Outstanding General Education Teacher Award.
